Payer Contracting
Sequent enters into provider agreements with local area health plans, allowing Sequent physicians to participate in payer networks. Many of the payer arrangements are value-based programs or collaborative efforts to improve the quality of care patients receive and identify opportunities to provide care more efficiently. Each of the agreements outline the terms and obligations of both payer and provider, including compensation and incentives.
Sequent participates with over 20 health plans in the Atlanta region. Sequent has been granted delegated credentialing by each of these plans, allowing physicians to get credentialed once by Sequent that applies to each of the plans physicians participate in.
Value Added Services
Physician practices that join Sequent Health Physician Partners benefit from a number of additional services and opportunities that contribute to practice success.
- Group Purchasing Program. Sequent leverages the network’s purchasing power to obtain discounts and reduced pricing on medical and administrative supplies, equipment and practice services (e.g. medical waste, etc.).
- Preferred Vendor Business Services. Sequent vets services that are important to physician practices then partners with vendors at discounted rates. Some of the services include:
- Electronic medical record (EMR) and practice management systems
- Information technology support and cyber security
- Patient satisfaction surveys
- Educational Programs. Sequent offers monthly webinars and other educational resources for physicians. Sequent co-sponsors a quarterly lunch and speaker series for office managers in addition to publishing important content in its bi-monthly newsletter.
